What happens today

Loan files in many SACCOs still live in a cabinet: a form, some photocopies, a guarantor signature that may or may not be current. Repayment schedules are worked out on a calculator, and the first anyone hears of a default is at the board meeting.

What it is being built to do

  1. 01Product rules set once: multiplier of deposits, maximum term, interest method, fees.
  2. 02Guarantor requests by SMS, with each guarantor’s exposure shown before they accept.
  3. 03Schedules generated on approval, with repayments matched from paybill or check-off.
  4. 04Reminders before due dates and a clear arrears list for the credit committee.

Fair questions

Does it handle check-off from employers?

Yes. The employer remittance file is imported and deductions are posted per member.

Reducing balance or flat rate?

Both, per loan product. The committee sees the total cost before approving.

See it before you commit.
